Iowa Man Extradited to Utah to Face Trial for Wayne County Homicides

A 22-year-old Iowa man extradited to Utah will stand trial for the random shooting deaths of three local women. Ivan W. Miller, a resident of Blakesburg, Iowa, appeared in a Colorado courtroom on Friday to finalize the legal transfer process. Prosecutors accuse Miller of killing the victims during a crime spree aimed at stealing their vehicles and financial cards.

Court Details: Iowa Man Extradited to Utah Following Colorado Hearing

During the Friday morning court appearance in Colorado, Miller officially waived his right to an extradition hearing. To speed up the transfer of custody, the local District Attorney in Colorado dismissed all state-level charges against the suspect.

This legal move ensures that the Iowa man extradited to Utah can face his primary charges without state-line delays. Law enforcement officials originally captured Miller in early March near the town of Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

Severe Charges and Victim Identification in Wayne County

The formal charges filed against Miller in Utah include three counts of aggravated murder, which counts as a first-degree felony. Authorities state that the violent incidents occurred in Wayne County, where the suspect targeted the victims at random.

The investigation links the homicides to the alleged theft of the women’s credit cards and automobiles. Officials have identified the three victims as:

  • 86-year-old Margaret Oldroyd
  • 65-year-old Linda Dewey
  • 34-year-old Natalie Graves

Miller will remain in custody as the transition to Utah proceeds for the upcoming legal proceedings.
