A BYU football player now has the opportunity to post bail as his case moves forward in the St. George court system.
Parker Kingston, 21, a wide receiver for Brigham Young University, appeared Friday in Fifth District Court in St. George. He faces a first-degree felony rape charge connected to an alleged incident on Feb. 23, 2025, at a residence in Washington County.
During the hearing, Kingston was formally notified of the charge and the potential penalties if convicted. The court appearance primarily focused on determining the conditions for his release.
What the Judge Decided
Judge John J. Walton ruled that Kingston may be released from custody if he posts $10,000 cash-only bail.
In addition, he must:
- Wear a GPS ankle monitor for at least 60 days
- Check in regularly with pre-trial services
These steps are designed to ensure Kingston remains compliant while the case proceeds.
Strict Conditions for Release
The court also imposed additional restrictions:
- Kingston cannot enter Washington County except for court appearances
- No contact is allowed with the alleged victim, her family, or roommates
- He must remove all social media apps from his phone and is barred from using social media
Kingston, originally from Layton, was taken into custody earlier this week in Provo.
A protective order has been filed on behalf of the alleged victim as the case continues in Fifth District Court.
As with all criminal cases, these are allegations, and the legal process will determine the outcome in the coming months.
